It’s a case of “oh my god, you people are so fucking ignorant, I am so tired of being treated like a child by people whose opinions I disagree with”. Yes, the internet is a closed system, and yes, people are idiots, but there are many different ways to go about explaining exactly how the internet works and when it works. You can say, “it’s an open system,” or you can say, “it’s a closed system.” Or you can say, “people can make up their own definitions of what it means.” And for the purposes of this discussion, we’ll ignore both of them.
If you’re a computer programmer, chances are that you’ve had a real computer before. If you’re not a computer programmer, your only recourse is to install an internet connection. And you don’t need to worry about that now.
